Programming and Services

With the goal to support family and community empowerment, the Center will provide:

Counseling

Counseling includes opportunities for mental health support. Sessions are offered in a variety of formats depending on personal goals, presenting concerns, and preferences. Counseling can include individual, couple, family, or group therapy.

Educational Workshops

Educational workshops can be tailored to address a number of topic areas of interest to youth and families. Some examples of topics might include parent empowerment, everyday coping strategies, strengthening family relationships, cultural competence/humility training for educators and community leaders, and certification in using empowerment frameworks with communities.

Community Participatory Action Groups

Community action groups involve community members working together with researchers to understand problems/concerns and change those for the better. Examples of community action groups include parent-led groups for educational advocacy and student-led groups for socioemotional support in schools.
